My ADHD diagnosis didn't suddenly make day to day life easier.
While searching online for support, I came across an ADHD term body doubling
= get things done with silent company
which looked like it could help!
But I didn’t have anyone to body double with & I had too much anxiety to join virtual co-working spaces with strangers who didn't understand ADHD.
So created the kind of support I was looking for!

I had a therapist and meds, but I was still struggling trying to keep up with day to day life.
My search history started filling up with phrases like "ADHD Support", "Support for ADHD Adults", "Adult ADHD HELP!" and dozens more.
At some point while searching I came across an ADHD term body doubling
a method of getting things done with silent company
. It looked like it could help. The only problem? I didn’t have anyone I could body double with.
I had far too much anxiety to join virtual co-working spaces with strangers who didn't understand ADHD struggles. There were also non-work tasks I needed help with. Like keeping up with washing dishes or doing laundry.

I could count the amount of friends I could reach out to on one hand, and many of them were in a different time zone. I also had far too much anxiety to join virtual co-working spaces with strangers who didn't understand ADHD & the kinds of things I struggled with. There were also non-work tasks I needed help with. Like keeping up with washing dishes or doing laundry. Tasks I felt shame for struggling with, and tasks that required encouragement.
