Here’s a breakdown!
(Click the v for a dropdown with more info!)

FIRST 5 MINUTES: LOG IN TIME
You have 10 mins from the start of the session to log in
On the day, you join the session using the Zoom link that’s been emailed to you.
Everyone goes into the waiting room for the first 5 minutes, with the room opening around 5-6 minutes after the start time to anyone who’s in the waiting room.
AFTER 5 MINUTES: THE MAIN ROOM OPENS
Host introduction for 5 minutes
The main room is opened after 5-6 minutes, and then every few minutes after that. You have 10 minutes from the start of the session until the room locks for body doubling.
Your session host will introduce the session and members have a chance to check in via the Zoom chat, ask questions, and continue to get their space set up for the session.
45 MINUTES OF BODY DOUBLING
After the intro, we begin body doubling!
At 10 past the main room is locked and we move to Zoom breakout rooms, with about 5-6 in each room.
It's important that you're on screen when the room is locked, otherwise you may not be put into a breakout room - and you risk being excluded from the session!
We work with our screens on and sound muted.
You will receive a pop-up reminder message on screen when there's 5 minutes to go.
5 MINUTE WRAP UP
Log off or rejoin the main room!
You'll get another pop-up message when the session ends. Once the session ends, everyone returns back to the main room.
You then have a few options!
You can log off and (if you have access) visit the member forum where you can connect with others or keep body doubling by joining our 24/7 Zoom Room.
You can also stick around for post session chats if the host is running them! Here you can connect with others, share a win or just listen to others sharing how their session went.
Please note: you'll never be asked to share on a session or be called out by name by a host!
Side note - you can also just log off and do your own thing at the end of the session!
After Session Chats
Sometimes they run, sometimes the session wraps up - it depends on the host.
The chats are set up to share what we got up to on the session, celebrate our wins, and normalise feeling good about things we get done. We also normalise sharing the not so good sessions and/or any struggles.
Chats are a nice way to get to know people, especially when you are reading posts in the forum and it can help to put a face to a name!
There's no expection to join in, you can always just listen and you can leave at anytime, even immediately after sharing or during someone else sharing!
Quick Disclaimer - The after session chats are not a replacement for therapy! There's space to share, but hosts will try to not let the conversation stray into heavy or triggering topics. It can be easy to get swept up in chats and hosts will always do their best to balance everyone’s need to share!
Moving Off Screen
You can move off screen when needed, but we encourage you to pick tasks that keep you on screen for majority of the session.
When moving away from the screen, we keep our video on for two reasons:
- Seeing an empty seat reminds us that someone is coming back.
A black screen draws attention to someone not being there. This can make those on screen feel more alone. - It can be easy to forget (thanks ADHD!) to turn our camera back on!
Stopping Video
You can stop video if,
- You need to relocate your device / you're moving between rooms
- If someone suddenly comes into your space and are on screen.
Aside from that we keep it on - even when we leave the room!
Body doubling works best when people are on screen so we try to look out for one another to make sure no one is on screen alone!
Sound off/ Captions On
All our sessions have closed captions available.
