General FAQs
Are these chats like counselling or coaching?
Nope!
Counselling and coaching are both fantastic services that are offered by a certified counsellor, psychologist or life coach.
I’m not certified in any way! My chats are offered only as peer support, from a place of lived experience.
If I give you a list of traits, can you tell me if you think I have ADHD?
I can’t diagnose you. I’m not an ADHD specialist or a clinical psychiatrist so I can't advise you in that way.
I can listen to your list and chat about what you’re experiencing. I can also share my own experience getting diagnosed and/or stories from the chats I’ve had with others about their diagnosis experience.
If you’re planning to get assessed for ADHD, I’m happy to hear what you’re planning to talk about or share with you the things I talked about in my assessment.
What do we chat about?
That's up to you!
Whether it’s venting, chatting about your ADHD journey, working with ADHD, relationships with others as you navigate ADHD, the chat subject is always up to you and the focus is on you! You don’t have to feel like you’re oversharing or taking up too much of the time! This is what the call is for!
By the way, having ADHD means I’m used to jumping from one topic to another topic quite often!
I want to, but I'm nervous about being on Zoom!
That’s understandable. I have anxiety and I get it!
You can always reach out DM on IG or email me adhdactually@gmail.com ahead of the call and we can message about it.
I’m pretty good at keeping chats going, I host chats after body doubling sessions all the time!
If you’re worried you might not know what to say, I promise I won’t make it awkward - I have anxiety too and I understand!
